HospoHub sponsor terms

These terms cover sponsorships sold by HospoHub ("we", "us"), https://hospohub.ca. "You" means the company that buys a sponsorship. The seller is Scott Wilson, operating as HospoHub, until HospoHub is incorporated. We'll tell active sponsors by email when that happens.

1. The offer

Every sponsor gets the same package (section 2) for a monthly fee.
Founding 10: the first 10 companies to sign up pay an early-bird rate of $249 USD a month for their first 6 monthly billing periods. After that, the regular rate is $499 USD a month (section 4).
The counter on /advertise shows how many founding spots are left, based on signed founding sponsors. The founding offer ends when all 10 spots are filled. There is no calendar end date. After that, new sponsors pay the regular rate.
One sponsorship covers one tool in one category. Each category has only one sponsor at a time.

2. What's included (while your sponsorship is active)

Sponsored placement in your category: your tool appears as the first card in its category, replacing the advertise card, labelled "Sponsored". There is only one sponsor per category, so no other sponsor shares the spot. It doesn't promise any particular size or design, and we may change the site layout as long as your card stays first in the category. When your sponsorship ends, your tool goes back to a standard (free) listing. Your placement starts on the day your listing goes live after you approve it (section 3). We aim for that to be within 7 days of receiving your approval.
Listing rewrite (once, at the start): we rewrite your listing around the hospitality problems your tool solves. You approve it before it goes live. We won't publish claims we can't check (for example results, customer numbers or awards) unless you give us a public source.
Spotlight issue: a dedicated newsletter feature labelled "Sponsored", sent once the newsletter launches (within 90 days of launch, or within 90 days of your start date if that's later). How many features are included is to be confirmed in writing before signing. It reaches the list as it stands on the day it's sent, and we'll tell you the subscriber count. We don't guarantee opens or clicks.
Founder spotlight thread: one thread on X and Bluesky from the HospoHub account, in our company voice, labelled #ad or with the platform's paid-partnership tag. We have the final say on the wording, but we'll show it to you first and correct any factual errors. Posts stay up after the sponsorship ends unless you ask us to remove them.
SEO guide mention: where your tool genuinely fits one of our problem guides, we add a mention labelled "Sponsored", with links using rel="sponsored". The mention is removed or relabelled when your sponsorship ends. If no guide fits, whether we offer a substitute is to be confirmed in writing before signing.
Monthly click report: how many people clicked through from HospoHub to your site. This starts only once our outbound-click tracking is live. Until then we'll say clearly that it isn't available yet.

3. Your listing and approval

You give us accurate information about your tool, including pricing if you publish it.
You approve the listing text before it goes live. Nothing goes live or is charged before you approve it. If you never approve it, you aren't charged.
Billing starts on the day your listing goes live, not the day you approve it. Your go-live date is your first billing date, and we'll email you to confirm it.
You confirm you have the right to let us use your name, logo and screenshots.

4. Price, the end of the early-bird rate, and renewal

Billing: monthly in advance, renewing automatically each month until you cancel. There's no minimum term.
When the discount ends: the early-bird rate applies to your first 6 monthly billing periods. From your 7th billing date onwards (6 months after your go-live date), the price changes to the regular rate of $499 USD a month, charged automatically.
Advance notice: we'll email the billing contact at least 30 days before your 7th billing date (6 months after your go-live date), stating the date and the new price. We'll send a reminder 7 days before.
Later changes to the regular rate: if we raise the regular rate, the rise applies only to new sponsors. Existing sponsors keep their rate for their 6 founding months. After that, we'll give you at least 30 days' email notice before any increase applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
Founding pricing applies to the original sponsoring company. It isn't transferable, and it ends if you cancel. If you come back later, you'll pay the regular rate.

5. How to cancel

You can cancel any time, including before the early-bird rate ends. The cancellation method is to be confirmed in writing before signing.
To avoid the next charge (for example the first charge at the regular rate), cancel before 11:59 pm Eastern Time on the day before your next billing date. We'll confirm by email within 2 working days, and the cancellation takes effect from the time you sent it.
There's no cancellation fee. Your sponsorship runs to the end of the period you've paid for, and then your listing returns to a standard listing.

6. No traffic or results guarantee

HospoHub is new and our traffic is still small. We don't guarantee any number of visitors, clicks, sign-ups or sales. You're paying for placement and the items in section 2.

7. Editorial independence

Sponsorship never changes our editorial content: rankings in guides, "best for" notes, comparisons or reviews. Sponsored placements are always labelled.
We list our own apps (for example ReplyHost) and mark them clearly as ours.
We may decline your application before you pay, or end a sponsorship and remove a listing if the tool or its listing is misleading, unlawful, unsafe, or no longer exists. If we end it for one of those reasons, any refund is to be confirmed in writing before signing.

8. Refunds

First payment: a full refund if you ask within 14 days of your go-live date.
Later months: no refunds for partial months after you cancel. Cancelling stops future charges.
Billed in error (for example charged after a cancellation that was sent in time): full refund of that charge.
If we fail to deliver (for example the listing isn't live within 30 days for reasons on our side): full refund on request.
If HospoHub closes or is sold: we'll give at least 30 days' email notice and stop billing. Any period you've paid for but we don't deliver is refunded pro rata. A new owner must either honour active sponsorships until your next billing date or refund as above.
Refunds go to the original payment method within 10 working days. Nothing in these terms removes any rights you have under the law.

9. Prices and taxes

Currency: all prices are in US dollars (USD). Prices: founding rate $249 USD a month for the first 6 months, then the regular rate of $499 USD a month.
Sales tax: taxes will be confirmed before billing.
You're responsible for any taxes that apply on your side.

10. Payment

You pay monthly in advance on each billing date. The form on /advertise does not take payment. If a payment fails, we'll email you and try again. If it hasn't been paid after 14 days, we may pause or end the sponsorship.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and we'll change the draft date when we do. For a change that affects active sponsors (other than fixing typos), we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then. Your early-bird price and its 6-month period won't be reduced or shortened by a change to the terms.
