The short answer
- Pick Perfect Venue if you're an independent restaurant, bar or venue. It has a free plan (CRM, proposals, payments and an events calendar) and publishes its prices: Professional is $199 a location a month billed annually ($239 monthly), Premium $299 ($339 monthly).
- Pick Tripleseat if you're a restaurant group or hotel with an events team and want a long-established sales and event management system. Pricing is on request.

Watch the payment fees
Event software often makes money on card payments as well as subscriptions. Perfect Venue, for example, adds 0.5% on Professional and 0.3% on Premium on top of standard card processing, and 0% on Enterprise. On $20,000 of event deposits a month, that 0.2% difference is $40. Ask every vendor what they add to card and bank payments.
What to test
- A real enquiry. Submit a 40-person birthday enquiry through your own website form and time how long it takes to send a proposal.
- Your menus and spaces. Load one real package with room hire and minimum spend.
- Deposits and contracts. Check e-signature, deposit schedules and refunds match your policy.
- Your POS or PMS. Hotels should check the link to their property management system; restaurants the link to their POS for final bills.
